BACKWORD is a group of self-published authors who are united in purpose under one banner to accomplish three primary goals:
• Attain mainstream media coverage.
• Generate sales.
• Bring an aura of professionalism and legitimacy to self-publishing.
WHY
With the changing landscape of the publishing industry, the ease of print-on-demand and digital distribution technologies, and the countless new avenues for authors to directly reach readers, there has never been a time like this. There’s a perfect storm brewing: publishers less willing to take chances and emerging media making it easier for writers to reach readers.
HOW
BRANDING: The backwards B on a book stands for quality writing. Even without a mainstream publisher, the author has chosen to stand with their work and discover exactly what can be accomplished in this next generation of publishing.
PRESS: Concentrated, united efforts to attain mainstream coverage for the brand as a whole. The media loves emerging technologies, underdog stories, and the wobbly state of traditional business models. The BACKWORD story has all three, and with multiple authors, there’s plenty to talk about.
CROSS-MARKETING: Multiple people pushing multiple, related products together is more effective than one person pushing one product alone.
WHO
A group of authors who share a common thought process and belief that the window for mainstream self-publishing success is about to open. A collective of unique, strong, talented personalities who will embrace the idea of exploring a new paradigm. There are no financial ties here – this is a partnership comprised of a common goal.
